About 65%-70% of our bodies are made of mostly water, according to some estimation. Make the best way to hydration a primary part of our health and well-being.

Water is essential for every role in your body, and dehydration drives to a host of adverse results on your health. Furthermore, a lack of sufficient hydration can significantly affect the health of your skin (leading to situations like eczema and acne ) as well as your hormones!

We may be familiar with the well-intended information to either drink eight glasses of water every day. Yet everyone has various rates of metabolism and water loss, occurring in different hydration requirements. Furthermore, drinking only water as a medium to hydration is not the most effective or healthfullest way to stay hydrated. (In fact, drinking too much water can wash out vital minerals.)

It comes down to HOW you hydrate, not just the amount of water you’re drinking.

Except for the water, you’re drinking can be correctly received and get into your cells, and except you’re not adding more things to your body that needs water to metabolize and excrete, it may turn out urinating most of that water and stay dehydrated!

Chronic Dehydration is Common

Several people are chronically dehydrated to some point, and you may be dehydrated even if you are not feeling thirst. If you’re chronically dehydrated, you’ve likely gotten habitual to functioning without sufficient hydration, so your body may switch other mechanisms (like food desires) in the belief that you’ll have foods with huge water content.

Symptoms of chronic dehydration:

· Dry skin, dry eyes, dry lips

· Feeling tired or lightheaded

· Brain fog and inability to concentrate

· Poor mood and irritability

· Body aches and muscle cramps

· Headaches

· Dry mouth and bad breath

· Food and sugar cravings

· Inability to lose weight

· Constipation

· Dark-colored urine

· Poor sleep

How Dehydration Influence Skin and Hormonal Health

Dehydration can influence the health of your skin. If your skin is experiencing a loss of moisture, it’s more permeable to irritants and more likely to inflammation, which can perpetuate forms like acne and rosacea.

Dehydration can also influence hormonal balance. Dehydration emphasizes your body, which can increase cortisol dysregulation and hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis dysfunction. HPA axis dysregulation necessarily drives dysfunction in other endocrine glands and an imbalance in their particular hormones, including the ovaries (progesterone, estrogen, testosterone) and thyroid (T4 and T3 thyroid hormones).

As we know, hormonal imbalances can affect the health of your skin, exacerbating the adverse impacts of dehydration on your skin.

How to Improve Hydration (without consuming tuns of water)

1. Avoid Dehydrating items

Several drinks, foods, and medications can make it more difficult for your body to keep a water balance and stay hydrated.

Dehydrating drinks and foods include:

· Coffee and caffeinated beverages

· Soda

· Alcohol

· High-sodium foods

· Coffee and caffeinated beverages

· Sugar

2. Lessen your Toxic Exposure

Environmental pollutants and chemical toxins need water to be efficiently eliminated from the body. By lessening your toxic contents as much as possible. You’re taking a load off of your cells and organs to expel these substances.

3. Drink Filtered Water

Unfiltered tap water carries numerous toxic contaminants, including heavy metals, chlorine, fluoride, pharmaceuticals, pesticides. These contaminants place an enormous strain on your body to metabolize and expel these items. Your body depends on water to eliminate these wastes from your body, so the more waste you’ve got, the more water your body requires to get rid of it all.

4. Include Minerals in your Water

To function well, your body requires both macro minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium and microminerals or trace minerals, such as copper, manganese, boron, and zinc.

Add a slight pinch of sea salt to your water.

5. First thing in the Morning to Drink Water

As we sleep, we usually lose water by breathing, metabolism, and exclusion through the kidneys. If you get up with a dry mouth, this could be a revealing indication that you’re dehydrated.

To contain the water lost while we sleep, drink 8–15 ounces of filtered water first thing in the morning before you eat food or drink coffee or anything.

6. Drink Herbal Teas

Herbal teas a good and healing way to stay hydrated! Several herbs are load with nutrients that can benefit keep you well hydrated. As well as rejuvenate your skin and hormonal system.

Herbs great in minerals include:

· Spearmint (Mentha spicata)

· Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

· Red clover (Trifolium pratense)

· Nettles (Urtica dioica)

· Raspberry leaf (Rubus spp.)

· Milky oat tops or Oat straw (Avena sativa)

7. Eat lots of Vegetables and Fruits

Veggies and fruits are naturally hydrating foods. They hold water, plus a mass of skin and hormone-healthy nutrients!

Veggies and fruits with huge water content (higher than 90%):

· Grapefruit

· Strawberries

· Watermelon

· Carrots

· Celery

· Cucumbers

· Lettuce

· Zucchini

· Bell peppers

· Radishes

8. Concentrate on Healthy Fats

Healthy fats are essential for healthy cell membranes. If cell membranes are small permeable due to lower lipid composition, they aren’t allowing in as much water, so they become dehydrated. You need healthy fats to maintain cellular water transport!

Healthy fats are also necessary for hormone production. Cholesterol creates the backbone of all your steroid hormones, which include your sex hormones (testosterone, progesterone, estrogen), cortisol (which manages inflammation, stress response, and metabolism), and mineralocorticoids (which control water and electrolyte balance).

Tips:

– Avoid rancid oils and trans fats, which provide lower cell membrane lipid composition

– Eat foods rich in omega 3s and other healthy fats: nuts/seeds, fish, coconut, avocados, and olives.
